Replacing windows with new windows is exciting! When home owners replace their older windows with new ones they most often speak of the clarity of their new window and how the temperature in their home feels so much better!
How does it work?
Home owners can expect to replace their windows at least every 10 years more or less. According to the manufacturer specification and how well they were installed. Once, the home owner has decided to replace their windows, generally speaking they will call a few companies after doing some research on them or have asked for a referral from a family member, friend or neighbor. Most will also search the internet and find a couple of companies with good reviews. Home shows are great because home owners can meet with the companies that are there and also look at the products without having to have them go to their homes first.
Once the home owner has selected a few companies of their liking they will receive a quote on how much the cost for the replacement of their windows will cost. At Utah Valley Window & Door the quote home owners receive can include several things as discussed with the home owner for the replacement of their windows. At times the replacement of the windows may include a stucco refresh or some other details that will be needed to replace the windows.
Once the homeowner and the window company agree to work with each other a contract is developed and signed by the homeowner. It is important that the homeowner understands how long will it take for the windows to be manufactured and although a general time frame can be said sometimes it may take less time and sometimes it may take more time.
Once the new replacement windows come in. the homeowners will receive a call to schedule installation. How long does a window installation take? The answer is it depends if there are other details that need to be done before the window is installed. For example a stucco refresh and others…as per agreed with the home owner previously. 1 day is general practice for the replacement of a window, but it could also take a few more if there is more than one window that needs to be replaced.
Make it simple!
Homeowners can organize the reasons why they would like to replace their windows and make sure they speak clearly about what they expect from the beginning to the end of the project. Make sure all parties involved in the decision of replacing the windows are present! This is very important so when the new windows get in the other person is not surprised!
